It was a pleasure to get to spend last weekend in Asheboro, NC for the North Carolina Pottery Conference. It had an English theme, with all English pottery demonstrating. We had the treat of seeing Lisa Hammond, Doug Fitch and Nic Collins on stage making a wide array of vessels.
On Sunday morning we heard three lectures in line with the theme of the conference. I filmed them in the interests if documentation and to share the experience with those who couldn’t attend.
John Burisson talks about a wide range of British Country Pottery here, from the slipware days of Thomas Toft to medieval jugs to harvest jugs to the remaining country pottery tradition at Littlethorpe Pottery in Yorkshire. John B covers a lot. Take a watch!
