Anagama Plate 3
Anagama Plate 3
In the last anagama firing I was a part of at Pleasant Hill Pottery I had a set of plates. They were fired in the core of the kiln, all stacked up on top of each other with sea shells. You can see the seashell marks on the plates.
The kiln was fired for 5 days and nights (over 108 hours). This one was made with my blend of recycled clay. I love how rich the surface is. Everything you see is just from the wood ash and wood vapors. No applied glaze at all! I was thrilled when these plates came out.
The power and velocity of the flame moved the clay during the firing, slightly altering the shape that it went in. I do not mind this as the intention was always to hang these. I have looped a wire around the foot ring of the plate so it can be easily hung with just a nail.

My pots are microwave, dishwasher and oven safe. I high fire them until they’re vitrified, around 2350°F.
If a pot you like is sold out, email me and I can make you a similar one! I also take commissions of all sorts; please email me if you have an idea.
I ship with USPS and UPS and send tracking information after sending each order.
I ship internationally; it’s no problem, but it may require a little extra postage. It’s hard to estimate as it changes from country to country. For international orders, I will contact you if there is a discrepancy between what you pay and the actual cost.
