Whisky tumbler 2

$75.00

These tumblers really tumble. I carve the bases round so that they rock. But not too much. Just enough. You liquid is safe, I promise. I don’t anticipate folks filling these to the top. That would be a lot of whisky. They allow a generous pour with room for ice.

I make these tumblers out of a hefty amount of clay so that the bases feel weighty. I think this is what you want when you are supping expensive Scotch whisky. And if its cheap whisky then these tumblers make it feel more expensive.

My starting point for making this form was the cut glass tumblers that my dad uses for whisky. I wanted to approximate the feel of them in clay.

This pot came out of the anagama kiln at Pleasant Hill Pottery in Oregon. TIt was in a more protected part of the kiln and I love the subtle flash it received. It feels really nice in the hand. The interior glaze is my granite jun glaze.

My pots are microwave, dishwasher and oven safe. I make them with stoneware clay and fire until they’re vitrified, around 2350°F.

If a pot you like is sold out, just email me and I can make you a similar one! I also take commissions of all sorts; please email me if you have an idea.

I ship with USPS and UPS and send tracking information after sending each order.

I ship internationally; it’s no problem, but it may require a little extra postage. It’s hard to estimate as it changes from country to country. For these international orders, I will contact you if there is a discrepancy between what you pay and the actual cost.
