Kurinuki tea bowl
Kurinuki tea bowl
I made this in New Zealand!
It was one of only 3 pots I made and brought back.
I made it at Elena Renker’s studio near Auckland. She showed me how she makes pots from solid blocks of clay-kurinuki style. I made this under her tutelage. It was a whole lot of fun. Quite time consuming. i was up late into the night hollowing out the form.
Elena kindly bisque fired it for me and then glazed it with two of her famous shino glazes. She even loaded it into the wood kiln for me and fired it! I was happy to be able to be there for the unloading. Her pots are amazing so I was super happy to be able to emulate her there.

My pots are microwave, dishwasher and oven safe. I high fire them until they’re vitrified, around 2350°F.
If a pot you like is sold out, email me and I can make you a similar one! I also take commissions of all sorts; please email me if you have an idea.
I ship with USPS and UPS and send tracking information after sending each order.
I ship internationally; it’s no problem, but it may require a little extra postage. It’s hard to estimate as it changes from country to country. For international orders, I will contact you if there is a discrepancy between what you pay and the actual cost.
