I awoke today to the first frost of the year. Chilly and beautiful. Here's some pictures.

A Jew's Ear or Jelly Ear fungus. Growing on a dead branch outside the shack. I put a couple of these in a lamb stew last week and have to say the results were disappointing. Rubbery, slimy, disconcerting texture with no discernible taste.
